Matthys has developed an advanced industrial solution for unwinding, inspecting, cutting and rewinding textile materials with high precision and efficiency. Designed for applications such as carpet, nonwoven fabrics and tufted textiles, the system converts large master rolls into perfectly finished rolls with exact widths and lengths.
The process starts with controlled unwinding of large rolls, ensuring stable material handling and ergonomic fabric guidance from the very beginning. The fabric then passes through an inspection and measuring section, allowing operators to monitor quality before cutting.
In the cutting section, multiple longitudinal knives divide the fabric into narrower lanes. The knives are automatically positioned according to predefined settings. By use of intelligent cameras, these knives can follow a specific zone to determine where to cut. The processed material is then rewound under carefully controlled tension, resulting in stable rolls with consistent hardness and straight roll edges.
